Friendship Fever T-Shirt Project

100% of net proceeds benefit:

National Multiple Sclerosis Society

The Friendship Fever T-Shirt Project honors great people, great causes and kick butt friends.

Friendship is a commitment we make because our life experiences demand it. We aim to offer something deeper than double-tappin’ that MF “like” button. We honor these homies by immortalizing their beautiful faces and interests on a shirt. And 100% of the net proceeds of each shirt will be donated to the charity of the friend’s choosing. It’s just another way we can celebrate these great people and do some good in the spirit of Friendship.

We’re kicking off the Friendship Fever T-Shirt Project with a salute to Kyle Satchwell, aka, “Satchy”. Why should you wear a t-shirt with his face on it? Easy. Aside from Kyle being an immediately endearing dude with some engaging diversions (pictured!), giving Kyle a friendship salute also supports a great cause. 100% of the net proceeds from the sales of the “Satchy” T-shirt go straight to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. Why? Kyle will tell you.

Where do you call home? What do you love about it?

I live on V. St. Sacramento CA 95818.  I’m not sure there is anything I can 100% say that sets this city apart from other places.  Don’t get me wrong, the city has soul.  It is one of the most diverse cities in the nation, which is rad.  I can tell you what I don’t like:  I don’t like walking around inside of an oven for 3 months out of the year.  This town needs to chill on the heat.  Shit bums me out.

What do you think about being on a dang t-shirt?

It’s a bit odd, because I don’t understand why anybody would want my likeness on a t-shirt. But, I’ll roll with it. I actually laughed pretty hard when I saw the sketch.

What charity did you choose to donate to, and why?

I chose to donate to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.  My mother has been struggling with this disease for quite some time now.  Not that she needs any help fighting anything.  She’s the toughest person I know.

What was the last album you purchased?

I recently bought Iron Maiden Somewhere in Time and Mass Gothic S/T and Diarrhea Planet Turn To Gold.

What was the last book you read?

I read a lot of non-fiction mostly.  But right now, I’ve been reading that Passage Trilogy by Justin Cronin.  Before that, I read Ghettoside by Jill Leovy.  Which, in my mind, is one of the most important books of last year.

What’s it like to hang out with Kyle Satchwell?

Really depends on what kind of mood I’m in.  Sometimes it can be totally chill.  Smoke a little cannabis, have a nice dinner, and listen to some records.  Other times I want to swill from the goblet and worship the devil.  It’s a real grab bag.

“If watching oversized cats hunt small children isn’t part of the American Dream… I don’t know what is.” —Kyle Satchwell

What’s your dream pet?

I saw a guy with a fucking Ocelot in his back yard a couple of months ago.  He had a small child and that Ocelot was darting out from behind bushes and tackling the small kid.  I could watch that for hours.  If watching oversized cats hunt small children isn’t part of the American Dream… I don’t know what is.

What’s your favorite place to eat in your hometown, and what do you recommend we order?

I like the Chile Verde burrito at Tres Hermanas.  Ultimate comfort food.  Hangover slayer.

We’re at a bar: I’ll be having a Midori Sour, my friend Kyle would like a _______ ?

Taxi.  I don’t judge people for what they put in their bodies, but I don’t have to sit and watch you be an asshole either.

Describe what friendship means to you in a handful of words.

You know that old saying “your friends are the family you choose”?  I think that’s complete dogshit, because there’s no choosing involved.  You don’t just wake up one day and say “I think I’m going to be that persons friend today”.  There has to be a sequence of shared experiences that draws somebody to another person.  Life chooses your friends for you.

Who’s a real good friend to you, and why?

I have a handful of really good friends.  They know who they are.  I’ve got my expectations set pretty low, so it’s really easy to maintain friendships like that.

Tell us about a real trippy dream you’ve recently had.

I’ve had this reoccurring nightmare where all of the teeth fall out of my mouth at once.  It’s traumatizing.

You’ve got a great attitude, dude. Any advice for keeping a great attitude?

Always be aware of how insignificant you are in the grand scheme of the universe.

We’re making more shirts for great friends we haven’t met yet. When you purchase a shirt from this series, nominate one of your ride-or-die pals to be featured in the Friendship Fever T-Shirt Project (use the comments section of the order form). We’ll be choosing a new friend every 3 months.
